Remember how I have a new-ish job? (I say ish because it’s been over six months since I’ve been with the company! SIX MONTHS!!!) Anyway, I pretty much love said job. I love the assignments I get, the experience it’s giving me, the fact that I get to write and design, the people I work with, the challenges (believe me, there are a LOT- learning comes with a certain amount of pain)…I could go on and on. But today, I particularly like my job today because I get to travel. I love traveling. I feel like a total grown-up when I get on a plane, fly to a new city, hail a cab or figure out what metro line to jump on, check into a hotel, etc. It’s weird when you realize you’re an adult- but it’s kinda cool, too!
Anyway, I’m at a marketing summit, learning tips and tricks from the social media gods. In San Francisco. I’m having a blast and learning a ton. I realize this may not be of huge significance to anyone else, but this might be…
How many people can say they’ve touched a World Series trophy?!? If I had known I would have such an opportunity I would have put it on my 30 Things list!
Speaking of 30 Things To Do Before I Turn 30, I’m about to turn 27! I gotta get some of these crossed off! Here’s an update- more to motivate me, but for your entertainment, as well:
1. Run a 5k
2. Ride a mechanical bull- I tried to do this one. Drove out to a country bar, did some line dancing, wore my cowboy boots…turns out I’m terrified of mechanical bulls and I chickened out. I'm going to have to gear up for this adventure.
3. Write a love letter and actually send it- this one terrifies me. Why the heck did I put this on the list?!?
4. Ride a horse
5. Go on a backpacking trip
6. Sit on a jury
7. Get scuba certified
8. Participate in a Polar Bear Swim- New Years Eve 2011. Washington DC. Done and done.
9. Have a complete physical
10. Get a letter to the editor published- I think I’ve found something I feel passionate enough about to write the editor about. And what is that, you ask? People not using their turn signals. THIS. DRIVES. ME. NUTS.
11. Drive a wickedly cool car- my friend Brad is going to help me out with this one. :)
12. See Old Faithful erupt- July reunion. Day trip to Yellowstone with Dad. SO excited!
13. Get a stamp in my passport
14. Walk on the Skywalk over the Grand Canyon- road trip in October
15. Learn to drive stick shift
16. Go white water rafting- Kern trip in August
17. Successfully stand up on a surfboard
