Update on my Mom

It's been kind of a rough week. Sunday and Monday my mom had what felt like a bad stomach bug. Well, Tuesday morning she went to the emergency room with apendicitis. Turns out her appendix ruptures, and it took about two hours for the surgeon to get her all put back together. Because it ruptured, there's been more complications. She's fighting some pretty serious infections in her abdominal cavity, and she can't leave the hospital for a while. At first she was told that it may be Friday, but it turns out the average time to be in the hospital is between 3-10 days. It's still really hard for her to sit up and walk around, but she does it anyway because she's a trooper. It's been a really hard week for our family. We've felt this huge outpouring of love, but it's just been really hard to see my Mom in this condition. I love her so much, and I'm just so afraid of possible complications. The Lord has really been with her, however. Her ER doctor is LDS and was instrumental in getting her into surgery ASAP. The ER was nearly empty when they arrived on Tuesday morning, and everything just seemed to work out in the best way possible, given the situation. I am so grateful for that. Oh, my word. It's just been a big blur, and I needed to get it out of my system. I love my mom so much, and I will be just so grateful when this whole thing is over and she is all better. She keeps saying, well, hopefully I'll live through this and it freaks me out. I know she is just trying to make like of a pretty serious situation, and I need to remember that she is in the hands of the Lord and very capable doctors and nurses. I'm just grateful for everything. I love her so much!
